Angeline Preschool

The Angeline preschool is an integrated program serving children identified with special education needs as well as children who are typically developing.  We are licensed by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) for a maximum of 24 preschool students, consisting of 12 students in a Monday/Wednesday class and 12 students in a Tuesday/Thursday class.  Both classes operate from 8:30am-2:30pm.

Our Philosophy

Angeline preschool is an early childhood environment that promotes self-confidence, develops social and emotional skills, and fosters a love for learning that will serve as great beginning to success in school and in life. We believe that preschool children learn best from hands-on experiences, modeling others, and exploring the world around them.

Parent Participation

Parents are a vital part of the Angeline preschool program.  Parents are welcome to visit the classroom and help with special projects, snacks, and field trips.  We encourage parents or other family members to share hobbies, collections, talents, professions and traditions with our class.

Curriculum

The Angeline preschool follows both developmentally appropriate practice for three, four, and five year olds as documented through the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Ohio Department of Education Early Learning Content Standards for English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  These standards are addressed through the use of the Creative Curriculum.  Curriculum instruction, the classroom environment, and age-appropriate activities reflect the cognitive, social, and emotional level of our learners.  They also take into consideration the differing abilities or characteristics of all the children’s unique ethnic and/or cultural characteristics and individual life experiences.

Preschool Staff

Angeline preschool is taught by a professionally licensed teacher who meets the highly qualified teacher standards set by the Ohio Department of Education for serving both children with special education needs as well as typically developing preschool students.  The teacher is assisted by preschool assistants who participate in ongoing professional training in the area of early childhood development and education.  For students who require additional special education assistance, the Angeline preschool also has available services of a speech/language development therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, behavioral specialist, and a delegating nurse.  Additional services may be available to students with hearing, vision, and/or mobility needs as well.

 Preschool Tuition & Supply Fees

Angeline preschool students who are typically developing (i.e., “typical peers”) are charged a monthly tuition to attend.  Ohio law does not allow the program to charge tuition to students who qualify as a preschool student with a disability, and who require special education services.  There are no supply fees for the Angeline preschool program.  Donations are welcome.

Angeline Preschool Enrollment and Waiting List

The Wyandot County Preschool Supervisor is responsible for the admission process into the Angeline preschool, including maintenance and management of a waiting list when necessary. To ask about preschool enrollment or about getting your child on the typical peer waiting list, contact Kim Pachis, Wyandot County Preschool Supervisor at (419) 294-4901 or kpachis@ncoesc.org
